This summer, every day, a personality tells his favorite series at the microphone of Laurent Valière. Today: actress Eye Haïdara and the Israeli series “Les Shitsels”.

Eye Haïdara was hilarious, as Jean-Pierre Bacri’s assistant in the film The sense of celebration, by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache. She embodied an effective organizer, who did not have her tongue in her pocket. We saw her recently, with Kad Merad and Zabou Breitman, in the series A man of honor. And she lay down on the couch of the shrink, in the series In therapyunder the camera of Agnès Jaoui.

Chez The ShtiselsEye Haïdara’s favorite series, Father Shulem is a rabbi and a widower. He has three children. His vision of the world is old: in black and white. He is proud, lives alone, and wants the best for his children, which he broods over. He also calls on a matchmaker to find a wife for the youngest, a sentimental dreamer, with his curls, and his childish air. “It’s an Orthodox family that lives in Jerusalem, says Eye Haïdara. It’s their Orthodox family life, with the problems too. I really like family stories.”

On paper, this Israeli series looks like a soap opera, but The Shtisels also shows how this family manages, on a daily basis, with the Jewish religion. “I like it a lot, because it reminds me a little bit of my family, while they are at the antipodes, adds Eye Haidara, where I still find the same things, the same codes, on the weight of people’s traditions, the way others look at you, it takes up a lot of space. What are people going to say about us, if we do this, if we behave like this? And me too, I know a lot about it, and I loved this series.
