February 17, 2021 The trial against Viktar Babaryk and former employees of “Belgazprombank” began. None of the independent journalists were allowed to attend the trial.
July 6 Babarika was sentenced to 14 years in prison. Judge Ihar Lubavitsky handed down the verdict. Babaryka pleaded not guilty, his defenders once again claimed political motives in the case.
