Seven people were injured, mostly lightly, during a late Monday afternoon performance at Germany’s largest amusement park, Europa-Park, in Rust, near the French border, a said the German police. “Around 5 p.m., witnesses observed an incident in a pool filled with water where a performance was taking place. A total of five artists and two visitors were injured,” the police wrote in their statement.

“Three of the injured have been hospitalized for observation,” she added. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of this accident, she said. On June 19, a fire occurred in this amusement park, most likely due to a “technical problem”, which led to the evacuation of 25,000 people. Europa-Park, located halfway between the German cities of Freiburg im Breisgau and the French cities of Strasbourg, was opened in 1975. According to its owners, it is visited by nearly six million people each year, making it the one of the main amusement parks in Europe.
