Chennai: A statement issued by the Tamil People’s Welfare Department yesterday said that 2,731 people were confirmed infected in Tamil Nadu yesterday. 674 were healed. Similarly, 9 people who were being treated in hospitals died yesterday without any treatment effect. A maximum of 1,489 people were diagnosed with the disease in Chennai yesterday. Following Chennai, 290 people were diagnosed in Chengalpattu, 120 in Coimbatore and 147 in Tiruvallur. In addition, a total of 24,118 people have so far been tested for RTPCR, of which 18,619 are from the most vulnerable countries and 5,499 are from the least affected countries. Of these, 121 were confirmed to be Omigran. 105 have recovered and returned home. 13 people are being treated.
