Dax slips over 200 points – new monthly low increases the risk of further price losses

Dusseldorf The price losses of the past few trading days are spreading on the German stock market. The Dax was quoted at 15,713 points on Tuesday afternoon, a drop of 1.2 percent or the equivalent of around 200 points lower than the previous day’s close. Pre-market there were still listings of 15,962 points, the daily low in exchange trading is 15,703 points, a new low in August.

Since August 3, the Frankfurt benchmark has fluctuated in a range of only around 350 points until today, Tuesday. It ended at 16,060 points on the top and 15,706 points on the bottom.

There was bad news from China again this morning: Both retail sales and industrial production fell short of expectations in July. In order to support the weakening economy, the Chinese central bank surprisingly tightened interest rates. It lowered the interest rate on loans with a one-year term.
