Israeli military forces shot dead two Palestinians, including a teenager, in a attack on the city of Jerichoin the northern West Bank, the territory under Israeli occupation, authorities reported.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the dead were between 16 and 25 years old and were shot in the chest by occupation troops during an “assault” on Jericho in the early hours of the morning.
The Israeli army said that during a nocturnal “anti-terrorism activity” In the Aqabat Jaber Palestinian refugee camp near Jericho, Israeli forces “responded with fire” to an attack, the AFP news agency reported.
The operation extends one of the most violent periods in years between Israelis and Palestinians, with more than 240 deaths so far in 2022.
