In the original 2006 book “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game” by Michael Lewis, Oher’s inspiring story of overcoming adversity is told. Born to a drug-addicted mother and one of thirteen children, Oher’s life took a turn when he was taken in by the seemingly generous Tuohy family.
However, Oher’s recent court documents claim that he was never officially adopted by the Tuohys. This revelation has sparked a wave of criticism towards Sandra Bullock, who starred in the film and won an Oscar for her performance. Some social media users are quick to judge the actress, even linking her to the ongoing domestic turmoil in her personal life following the death of her partner Bryan Randall.
Sports broadcaster Brandon Walker took to Twitter to express his disapproval, stating, “Sandra Bullock should give her Oscar back. She knows she didn’t deserve that s—t!” Other armchair critics joined in, blaming Bullock for the alleged deception portrayed in the film.
