In Health Zone 4, Phase 3 of the Vaccination Campaign against poliomyelitis, measles and rubella, led by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), was completed, that is, with Rapid Vaccination Monitoring (MRV). Zonal 4 corresponds to the Manabí and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas provinces.
Between both provinces, 65,607 homes in rural and urban areas were visited, adding a total of 901 MRV. Brigades made up of technical teams from the MSP and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) traveled to these areas.
“The MRV planned for the area was 100% fulfilled and the greatest satisfaction for each of the health professionals is that our children are protected. This would not be possible without the work carried out in each of the health facilities and the support of the MSP and PAHO,” said Cecilia Guillén, zonal coordinator 4 of Health.
The official added that there was also support from neighborhood leaders and other institutions that were strategic allies such as: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion and Decentralized Autonomous Governments. This allowed both provinces to obtain these satisfactory results for the benefit of our boys and girls.

In total, 418,525 minors between 1 and 12 years of age were immunized in Zone 4.
