Govindan expressed his views during the inauguration of Secular Street Elayavur organized by the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), advocating against the transformation of India into a religious state.
According to Govindan, the allegations against Veena Vijayan’s IT company are baseless, as the company is no longer functional. He emphasized that there is no ambiguity within the party regarding this matter and that family members are being unfairly dragged into the controversy to target the CPM.
The Secretary further stated that the company’s claims of providing services have been misrepresented in the ongoing propaganda. While Veena Vijayan did run an IT company in the past, it is no longer in operation. Govindan emphasized that the company does not have the authorization to disclose any contract details between the two parties involved. He highlighted that the current focus of false propaganda is centered around Riaz’s affidavit.
Govindan invited scrutiny of Riaz’s affidavit, stating that if any errors are found, the party has no objections to addressing them. He criticized the media for consistently targeting the Chief Minister and his family, asserting that the party stands in solidarity with party leaders’ children who face criticism. This stance, he noted, was previously adopted during the Kodiyeri case and remains unchanged.
The CPM State Secretary reaffirmed the party’s transparency, stating that there is no need to conceal any information regarding the controversy involving the Chief Minister’s daughter. The party remains steadfast in its commitment to open dialogue and will confront any false allegations put forth against its members.
