Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who was hospitalized with intestinal obstruction, is recovering. He could be discharged from the hospital this week, the medical team treating him said.
The doctors noted that they had already ruled out the need to conduct an operation on the president. “Jair Bolsonaro takes a liquid diet well throughout the day, which made it possible to abandon the nasogastric tube … The digestive tract shows signs of recovery,” the doctors said in a statement (quoted by RIA Novosti).
The Brazilian President was hospitalized with abdominal pain in the early morning of January 3. Because of poor health, he interrupted his vacation, he was taken to a hospital in São Paulo. Mr Bolsonaro’s health problems began after he was stabbed in the stomach in 2018 at a rally. Since then, he has undergone several operations, the last time he was in the hospital in the summer of 2021.
