The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) received the official certificate of use and occupation of the new Basic Hospital Dr. Francisco Vásquez Balda de Pedernales (Manabí), from the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP), in the presence of the superintendent of the contractor China CAMC Engineering, Geovanny Gárate and the inspector of the work, Mario Briones.
The document was delivered to the Zonal 4 Health coordinator, Cecilia Guillén, by the Zonal 4 MTOP undersecretary, José Luis Espinoza. With this, it begins immediately with the placement of the sanitary equipment, within a period of 30 days.

In this health home the following portfolio of services will be offered: external consultation; emergency; imaging; laboratory; transfusion medicine; surgical center; sterilization; hospitalization; physical therapy and rehabilitation area; dentistry, among others.
The operation of the health facility is planned in four phases that includes the hiring of specialized personnel. This month, the first phase, began with the administrative team and 29 officials joined. Phase 2, September, for pharmacy, outpatient and laboratory areas. Phase 3, October, surgical and obstetric center; hospitalization and emergency, and finally imaging in December 2023.
An investment of USD 4.1 million is estimated in the hiring of health professionals for 200 jobs.
