The billing of airlines in travel agencies reached 2,910 million euros between January and July, 20.2% more compared to the same period in 2022, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
In addition, the number of transactions in the accumulated of 2023 exceeded ten million, which represents a growth of 8.8% compared to the first seven months of last year.
Specifically, in Spain there are 3,721 travel agency that have IATA accreditation, 21.9% of the total in the European region.
In the month of July, the BSP invoiced 0.3% less than the same month of 2022, up to 379.4 million euros, continuing the fall of this past June after five months of increases since the beginning of 2023.
Regarding the number of transactions, travel agencies carried out a total of 1.24 million operations in July, 1.5% less than last year.
