Bressler Sycamore Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Natalie Dadon Demanding NIS 250,000 in Compensation

Tel Aviv, Israel – Bressler Sycamore, one of the leaders of the protest against the reform of the judicial system, has filed a lawsuit for defamation against Natalie Dadon. Bressler is seeking compensation in the amount of NIS 250,000 following Dadon’s alleged “false publications” against her.

The lawsuit states that Dadon wrote in her false publications that Bressler “calls for the exercise of the power of the arm above all possible platforms,” and that she has “completely gone mad” because for her, “blocking ambulances from reaching the wounded is a legitimate protest.” Dadon also claimed that Bressler is “dangerous to the people of Israel” and “leading (with her hands) to a fratricidal war and the destruction of a home,” while also “trampling all those who think differently from her.”

“These are libelous publications, which are completely contrary to the consistent and well-known messages of the plaintiff,” the lawsuit reads. Bressler argues that these false claims echo statements made by the government and its supporters, who portray the protest against the regime changes as “violent” or “dangerous” and accuse the protestors of deliberately obstructing ambulance services.

According to Bressler, these publications were made with malicious intent, as Dadon allegedly knew that their content was false and distorted. The lawsuit claims that Dadon intended to harm Bressler and her public image while tarnishing the image of the Zionist, democratic, and non-violent protest symbolized by Bressler and others.

Attorney Idan Seger, representing Bressler Sycamore, commented on the matter, stating, “These are defamatory publications, which are 180 degrees contrary to the consistent and well-known messages of the plaintiff regarding the protest. The publications echo false claims heard from among the government and its supporters, and Dadon published them maliciously, knowing that their content was false and distorted. Her intention was to harm Bressler and paint a negative image of the peaceful protest.”

The lawsuit has drawn attention to the ongoing debate surrounding the reform of the judicial system and the right to freedom of expression. Legal experts anticipate that this case will set an important precedent for future defamation lawsuits relating to public protests and government opposition movements.
