Loroum/Arbor Day: 2,000 plants planted in Titao
Ouahigouya, (AIB) – Two thousand plants were planted on Saturday August 5, 2023 on two sites in the city of Titao (North) as part of Arbor Day.
Like several localities in Burkina Faso, the city of Titao, in the province of Loroum (North) celebrated on Saturday August 5, 2023, the day of the tree.
Reforestation activities have been organized for this purpose, at the Urban Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) of Titao and at the provincial high school of Loroum.
They mobilized the living forces of the locality. This made it possible to plant 1,400 plants at the Urban CSPS in Titao and 430 plants at the Loroum provincial high school.
170 plants were also removed by members of the association of people living with a disability.
According to its manager, Boukary Niampa, its structure attaches great importance to the preservation of the environment.
This reforestation campaign has benefited from the support of the Citizen Action Association for Development (ACD) and the Association for Education and the Environment (A2E).
For the initiators, the activity reflects the commitment of the populations of Titao to protect the environment, despite the difficulties linked to the security and humanitarian crisis that the locality is going through.
The species planted are mainly moringa, mango and baobab.
