Seven people were shot, and one has died, after a block party in the Parkside section of Philadelphia turned into a violent shootout early Saturday morning. The incident took place in the 500 block of N. Creighton Street just after 1:30 a.m. According to police, at least 38 shots were fired during the incident.

Authorities reported that two victims were immediately transported to the hospital by police, two others were taken by ambulance, and one victim arrived at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in a private vehicle. Two additional victims arrived at the same hospital approximately an hour later. Among those injured was a 19-year-old man who was sadly pronounced dead at 5:40 a.m. due to multiple gunshot wounds.

The other victims include two 20-year-old women, two 21-year-old women, a 47-year-old man, and a 51-year-old woman. One of the 20-year-old women sustained a graze wound to the shoulder. Thankfully, all the other wounded victims are in stable condition and receiving medical treatment.

Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind this shooting, and no arrests have been made at this time.

This incident follows another shooting that occurred just days earlier on the same block. On Thursday, police were called to the area when a man was fatally shot in the doorway of his own home. Currently, there have been no reported arrests in connection with that shooting.

Residents in the neighborhood are left concerned and on edge due to the recent violence. The community is eagerly awaiting updates from the police while hoping for increased safety measures in the area.

The investigation into both shootings is ongoing. Anyone with information about either incident is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department. In the meantime, authorities are encouraging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help ensure the safety of the community.
