BBVA contributes 4 million euros to the Suma Capital climate fund

Last July, BBVA decided to invest four million in the manager’s new climate fund Capital Sumthe ‘SC Climate Impact Fund III FCRE’, with a total size of 300 million euros.

“These funds generate an attractive risk-adjusted financial return for us and will allow BBVA learn in this environment and be a reference in the financing of these technologies”, said the global head of Sustainability from BBVA, Javier Rodríguez Soler.

In terms of geographic scope, Suma Capital expects investments in Spain to represent 50-70% of total commitments, while the rest is located in Europe (France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, mainly).

The vehicle is classified as an impact fund within article 9 of the SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation). Among others, it will invest in circular economybiogas and biomethane.
