Prime Minister Modi’s scheduled visit to Punjab was abruptly canceled. Both the central government and the BJP have blamed the security mess on the Congress government.

Congress party chief spokesperson Randeep Surjiwala tweeted:

“The reason for canceling the meeting is that there is no meeting to listen to Modi,” he said. The BJP has stopped blaming who is to blame. Should self-examine his attitude towards farmers. Hold meetings. But first listen to what the farmers have to say. ”

Meanwhile, Amarinder Singh, the former Congress first minister in Punjab, has called for the implementation of presidential rule there.
