The writer Irmtraud Morgner, who was born in Chemnitz, would have turned 90 on Tuesday. And on Tuesday, the Irmtraud Morgner Prize will be awarded for the second time – to a kindred spirit from Croatia.

Maybe it all started at the Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf train station, where her father was a train driver.
