Investigation Opened into Bar Association Chairman’s Fees Scandal

The Bar Association has announced that it will be launching an investigation into the fees collected by the Chairman of the Movement for the Quality of Government, Eliad Sharaga, from a woman named Keshet Yom. The shocking revelation came to light recently, causing widespread outrage and demands for answers.

Sharaga allegedly received a staggering one and a half million NIS from Keshet Yom for handling the estate of her brother, a disabled IDF Ariri. The fees raised eyebrows and sparked an immediate call for action.

In response to the matter, the Ethics Committee of the Tel Aviv District Bar Association declared, “Given the seriousness of the things described in the media publication regarding attorney Eliad Sharaga, we will open an investigation.”

Prior to the Bar Association’s decision, the “Bezelmo” organization strongly criticized Sharaga and called for his lawyer’s license to be revoked. They pointed out the irony of a lawyer who portrays himself as a beacon of morality and an anti-corruption advocate being exposed as someone who violates basic moral principles.

It has been alleged that Sharaga intentionally hid his questionable conduct from the public eye, insisting on confidentiality agreements and favoring arbitration to avoid scrutiny from courts and judges. Criticism from Arbitrator Shushi Londner further tarnished Sharaga’s reputation, highlighting the significant power imbalance between a top attorney and an ordinary woman.

News 12 reported that Sharaga collected the exorbitant one and a half million shekels from Keshet Yom for his services in handling her brother’s estate. It is believed that the disabled IDF officer’s sister sought representation to ensure fair treatment, only to be burdened with sky-high fees.

The investigation launched by the Bar Association aims to ascertain the facts of the case and determine if any ethical or legal violations have occurred. As the legal community awaits the outcome, many are hopeful that justice will be upheld and accountability will prevail.
