The Ligue 2 match between Ajaccio and Bordeaux was interrupted for nearly an hour due to a fight in the stands between supporters of the two teams before resuming on Monday at the François-Coty stadium. Referee Gaël Angoula sent the two teams back to the locker room after ten minutes of play when in the stands some Ajaccio supporters wanted to do battle with their rivals from Bordeaux.
The Girondin club was however the subject of a prefectural decree prohibiting the movement of its supporters to Corsica. Seats were ripped off and a security barrier flew from a stadium stand, according to footage from broadcaster beIN Sports.

The Bordeaux supporters involved were evacuated by the police. Immediately after the end of the incidents, the refereeing corps, the match delegate and the security officials met to decide whether the game should resume.
Finally, the conditions were deemed to meet the standards for the resumption of play after almost an hour of interruption (55 minutes). In the process, the Girondins de Bordeaux published a press release castigating the behavior of their supporters “FC Girondins de Bordeaux strongly condemns the non-respect by an isolated group of supporters of the prefectural decree prohibiting their presence at the Francois-Coty stadium in Ajaccio,” writes this press release. The club is in close contact with the prefecture and the delegates of the League to allow their expulsion, their sanction, and welcomes the decision to resume the match. The club will then take all necessary measures to sanction this unacceptable behavior which in no way reflects the culture of Girondins supporters. »
