YAHUKIMO – Private Private Agung Pamuji from Infantry Battalion 6 Marines Al, who was serving as the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea Border Security Task Force, was shot dead by the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB). The elite TNI AL soldier died after a gun battle with the KKB, Monday (21/8/2023).

The KKB Papua brutal attack targeted the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea Border Security Task Force Post from Infantry Battalion 6 and Infantry Battalion 7 Marines of the Indonesian Navy. The attack took place in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Highlands Papua.

Head of the Naval Information Service (Kadispenal), First Admiral TNI I Made Wira Hady Arsanta confirmed that there was a shootout between the Indonesian-Papua New Guinea Satgas Pamtas Mobile Indonesia-Papua New Guinea Infantry Battalion 6 Marines of the Indonesian Navy, and KKB Papua at the Dekai District Task Force Post, Yahukimo Regency, Highlands Papua Province .

“As a result of the shooting, a Marine soldier of the Indonesian Navy on behalf of Pratu Mar. Agung Pamuji, a member of Infantry Battalion 6 Marines of the Indonesian Navy died,” said the one-star admiral, Monday (21/8/2023) evening.

Arsanta also explained that the gunfire occurred at around 11.02 WIT, when members of the Indonesian-Papua New Guinea Pamtas Mobile Task Force were on guard at the post. Suddenly he was shot by KKB Yahukimo.

“Furthermore, the victim was evacuated to the Dekai Hospital, and immediately received medical treatment. At around 12.40 WIT, the Dekai Hospital medical staff stated that the Pamtas Mobile Indonesia-Papua New Guinea Task Force personnel, the victim of the shooting contact was declared dead. Currently waiting for the evacuation process to Jakarta,” he concluded.
