Mr. Luong was originally a mechanic, famous for repairing good things. Any house that has any broken machinery or furniture will ask him to come and help. In addition, he also has a passion for creativity, inventing useful machines for farmers. “I find that no matter how good a machine is, it will take 5 to 10 years to be old or damaged.
I’m old again, want to do something “lifetime” longer than the machine, so I came up with the idea of making a revolving house. I found out that no one in the world has made such a house out of concrete, only an iron frame like a ferris wheel, with wheels and powered by an engine.

Many people know that I’m crazy, how can I do that. But I always thought that I would be able to make the revolving house “live” for 100 years. Sometimes when I lie down, my descendants and people still think of me with the conversation about building this house.” a man from Bac Giang said.
In 2009, Mr. Luong embarked on the idea of building a house. He then proceeded to apply for a construction permit on a 10 hectare land leased for 50 years. In 2016, he completed the revolving house with an area of 172m2.
“I’m poor for building this house! I also quarreled with my wife and brothers in the family because they did not agree, dismissing this idea. But I’m the one who decides what to do to the end, as long as it doesn’t affect family life.” the man confided.
Referring to whether the revolving house is 100% complete or not, Mr. Luong honestly said that the rotating system was completed but did not have enough funds to complete it all. For example, the upper floor has fully installed toilets, but the electricity and water system has not been completed. Even painting the walls is a work of brothers and sisters, but he has no money to paint…
The 172m2 house was built on a land of 50ha.
“My house is very special, can rotate 360 degrees. I can adjust the house to rotate in all directions with different rotation speeds: the slowest is 24h/revolution, the fastest makes many people feel dizzy. I connect all the systems to the phone so that I can turn on and off the rotation remotely,” Mr. Luong proudly showed off.
Regarding the 360-degree automatic rotating body, Mr. Luong said that many people speculated that to operate the 420-ton house would consume a lot of electricity and waste energy. But in fact, it consumes the same power as turning on a fan.
“I need a way to do that! It has a water tank in the house. There is new water gently rotating. People just imagine if I use the motor to run, how many bearings and wheels will it take for the machine? More than that, I couldn’t make such a nice, detailed machine.
Mr. Luong’s exclusive patent for Rotary House in the water tank is recognized in 2022.
I also want to reveal that the house is floating thanks to an underground pontoon tunnel with a diameter of up to 12m, combined with a propeller system and a rotating shaft. Honestly, I put a lot of effort, intelligence and money into completing the revolving house. I am very proud of myself and the products I create.”Mr. Luong said happily.
As soon as he finished speaking, the man sighed and sat thoughtfully for a long time. Then he sadly said that the house was finished when there was a dispute about intellectual property rights for technology. “I am the one who invested all the money, land and invention of this house.
However, I initially shared the idea with a neighbor. And when finished, I gave them the key to the turntable for 3 years, and also asked for a copyright registration. But they registered their name as the owner of the invention, only recognized me as a co-author, entitled to 5% royalties if they put it into business. It took me a long time to get justice.”Mr. Luong shared.
According to research, after a long time of dispute, the National Office of Intellectual Property has settled the case between Mr. Luong and his neighbor according to Decision No. 3612w/QD-SHTT dated February 24, 2023. Accordingly, the patent of Mr. Luong’s friend is invalidated because there is no basis to verify that one of the inventors has transferred the right to file to the applicant. Particularly, Mr. Luong’s digital patent is still valid.
