After long weeks of preparation and seven friendly matches played (six victories), the French basketball team will begin its Basketball World Cup this Friday. Contested in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines, this World Cup brought together 32 teams. France were placed in Group H, alongside Canada, Latvia and Lebanon. A successful preparation
For this World Cup, Vincent Collet, coach of the Blues, can count on an almost complete team. Frank Ntilikina was injured during the preparation. He was replaced by Isaïa Cordinier.
The friendly matches were successful for the France team. Captain Nicolas Batum’s teammates first beat Tunisia, Montenegro and Venezuela before dominating Lithuania twice. After flying to the venue of the competition, they finished their preparation with a victory against Japan and a narrow defeat against Australia, after having dominated the majority of the meeting.
