E’ Toto Cutugno died at the age of 80, one of the best known Italian artists in the world. His “L’italiano” had been around the globe engraved and translated by various singers in different languages and selling millions of records. Singer-songwriter, composer, lyricist and TV presenter died at the San Raffaele in Milan: he had been ill for months. He reached the top of the charts, both as a performer and as a producer and songwriter for others, especially Adriano Celentano, in the 1970s and 1980s. It is estimated that he has sold 100 million copies. He has participated, as a soloist, in pairs or in a group, in 15 editions of the Sanremo Festival, winning it once in 1980 with “Solo noi”.
