Free medical consultation program

Free diagnostic and therapeutic procedures apply to all people without social security, regardless of socioeconomic level, which allows free access to highly specialized medicine, early detection of diseases, and improved success rates. in the treatments and the reduction of attention costs.
Before authorities of the Ministry of Health, legislators and legislators, the general director of the General Hospital of Mexico announced that, since its foundation, this center has played a crucial role in caring for people who do not have social security; Currently, more than 95 percent of the user population is in vulnerable conditions.
Types of free medical consultations
With the free program it was also possible to attend: 179 thousand emergencies, 147 thousand discharges, 71 thousand 600 surgeries, including highly specialized ones (ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, coloproctology, bariatric surgery, urology, thoracic surgery, plastic and maxillofacial surgery, vascular and endovascular, transplants, cardiac surgery, oncology, orthopedics and neurosurgery), as well as nearly 400,000 imaging studies.
In addition, 11,381,000 laboratory studies, 243 cases of Heart Attack Code, 56 cases of stroke, 7,500 hemodialysis sessions and the delivery of close to one million medical supplies.
Regarding this effort, the general lawyer of the Ministry of Health, Maricela Lecuona González, maintained that the free materializes what is stipulated in the fourth paragraph of article 4 of the Constitution, which recognizes the right to health protection, progressively and governed by the principles of universality, equality and free of charge, so the achievements of the HGM are a source of pride for the federal Health sector and, in general, for the country.
The secretary of the General Health Council (CSG)Marcos Cantero Cortés, pointed out that, although it is a satisfaction to achieve these results in the provision of free medical services, the achievement is even more significant because they are of quality.
He endorsed the commitment of the Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer Varela, in the sense of maintaining the momentum of the unique model of quality care, with the objective that Mexicans have access to services and supplies with the highest standards of efficiency.
In this sense, the head of the Administration and Finance Unit of the Ministry of Health, Marco Vinicio Gallardo Enríquez, reported that, for the implementation of the free program, the HGM received 12 advanced mammography systems, 442 multiple hospital beds for care intermediate units, X-ray equipment and 58 intensive care hospital beds, with a global investment of 108 million pesos.
He pointed out that, every year, the General Hospital of Mexico receives around one billion pesos from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) for the free program, which makes it the first health care center in this area. , followed by the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition “Salvador Zubirán” (INCMNSZ) and the National Institute of Cancerology (INCan).
