Gustave Eiffel died a hundred years ago. RFI takes advantage of the centenary of his death, marked in France with a series of events, to talk about the legacy of the French engineer who went down in history as the “magician of iron”. The Eiffel Tower, its most famous monument, inaugurated in 1889, is also one of the most copied. Worldwide, there are more than 70 replicas of the main postcard of Paris, five of which are located in Brazil.
