In a desperate attempt to prevent further cuts in Gothenburg’s schools, municipal board chairman Jonas Attenius (S) is calling on the government for additional funding. With around 500 positions already lost this year, the situation is dire and there is a genuine fear that this is only the beginning.
Attenius is urging the Liberals in the city to join him in his plea to the government to provide financial support. He believes that without this support, it will be impossible to maintain the high educational standards that Gothenburg’s schools have been known for.
“We have to get government support,” Attenius emphasized. “Otherwise, we cannot maintain the level we want.”
