A large fire was recorded at km 450 of the SP-425 (Assis Chateaubriand highway), southbound, in Presidente Prudente, in the early afternoon of Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
According to the concessionaire Eixo SP, the fire at a recycling factory caused a lot of smoke on the highway and traffic flowed slowly.
For the work of the Eixo SP concessionaire, the Highway Military Police, the Fire Department, the Civil Defense, the Technical Police, Águia and the Cart concessionaire’s irrigator, all lanes and the shoulder were blocked at 1:15 pm, with traffic being diverted to the highway Mayor Fouad Youssef Makari. At 6:20 pm, the tracks were released. At 23:24, the teams remained in the domain area, keeping the fire under control. At 07:04 on Wednesday, August 23, there was still smoke in the area, but no smoke was present on the roadways.
