The Piquetero Struggle Front, made up of left-wing groups and the Polo Obrero, will hold a new day of protests throughout the country this Thursday, which will include a mobilization on Avenida 9 de Julio, from Avenida San Juan. They will march under the slogan: “Comprehensive assistance to soup kitchens. Enough of hunger, down with the adjustment ”.
The mobilization had been suspended last week due to the floods caused by the storm in popular neighborhoods, with its epicenter in the Buenos Aires town of La Plata. Now, it will take place in the midst of growing social tension, which has been experienced in the last few hours, with gang robberies in different parts of the country.

Although some suspicions circulated about the involvement of some social organizations for these violent acts, which the leader of the CCC, Raúl Castells, later claimed responsibility for, the Polo Obrero and the rest of the groups that make up the Piquetera Unit came out to separate themselves.
“The Polo Obrero denies the versions that involve it in looting. On the contrary, the Polo Obrero reiterates the mobilization scheduled for Thursday and demands urgent assistance to the soup kitchens, before those responsible for the hunger”, said Néstor Pitrola, national deputy for the Left Front.

The Piquetero Struggle Front demands from the Government a 100% increase in all social plans, denounces delays in the delivery of merchandise in dining rooms and demands an increase in the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage (SMVM), today at $112,500, which has an impact parallel in the social plans.

According to the increase schedule, which is 34% and is charged in three installments, the SMVM will leave $118,000, to be collected in October. The payment to the beneficiaries of Potenciar Trabajo will come from this figure, who will receive $56,250 in September and $59,000 in October.
Without agreement, the day of piquetero struggle advances
The new plan of struggle was announced by the Piquetero Fight Front, to which most of the social organizations that make up the Piquetero Unit are not a part. However, it is led by the Polo Obrero, with great mobilization power.
Although in recent days a series of contacts between social organizations and officials of the Ministry of Social Development were planned with the aim of opening a dialogue instance and avoiding a protest throughout the country, without progress, the Piquetero Struggle Front confirmed the protests.
Until late Wednesday, the organizations held meetings to finish defining the mobilization points, which will include roadblocks throughout the country.

The City of Buenos Aires will be the epicenter of the protests. The picketers will block the main accesses to the Federal Capital from 10:00 and then they will mobilize towards the Ministry of Social Development. Among the different points that will be cut are the Pueyrredón, La Noria and Saavedra bridges; Route 3 and General Paz and the Autopista del Oeste.

The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, plans to make a series of announcements in the coming days to counteract the return that was given after the PASO, but also to try to improve the performance of the ruling party in October, to try to enter the ballot.
