Six films created by AIC students, professors and professionals were selected for the 34th São Paulo International Short Film Festival – Curta Kinoforumwhich will take place between the 24th of August and the 3rd of September.
Mborairapé
Directed by roteiro teacher Roney Freitas, the film “Mborairapé” is a collaboration with the indigenous RAP group Oz Guarani and Guarani Mbyá artists from the villages of Itakupé and Pyau, located in Jaraguá (SP).

Jorge
Bruno Laise Felix, a former student of Filmworks, is the director of the film “Jorge”. The plot follows a young resident of the outskirts of São Paulo who realizes the need to postpone his dream of being a designer.

Verde
Directed by Gustavo Auriccio and Rodrigo Ribeyro, Filmworks alumnus and Cannes winner, and with art direction by professor Dicezar Leandro, “Verde” was also selected. The film tells the story of Marieta, an experienced farmer from the interior of Brazil who, one day, hears something unusual among the trees.

The Sea Is Also Yours
A work by AIC Producer Michelle Coelho, “The Sea Is Yours Too” tells the story of a woman who, between sleep and wakefulness, revisits the memory of an abortion and the ghosts that accompany it.

The Cabin Driver
Christian Mock, filmmaker and former student of AIC, brings his new film “O Condutor da Cabine” to the selection. The story explores the movie booth as the heart of the magic that transforms the art of exhibition into a complete experience, filled with light and shadow. A character who transcends his projectionist identity to embrace a love of cinema.

fifteen almost sixteen
A film by former teacher Thais Fujinaga, “Fifteen almost sixteen” tells the story of Tamiris, a basketball player on a scholarship at a private school. As she becomes involved with the school’s drama group, Tamiris discovers new ways to express her teenage energies, until she faces a painful incident of harassment during class.
