Nametenga: Communities promote living together
Boulsa, (AIB)-The communities of the province of Namentenga organized a day called “Day for the promotion of living together”, on August 19, 2023, in order to promote a return to harmony and social cohesion.
The day to promote living together began with prayer sessions by representatives of Catholic, Protestant, Muslim and customary communities.
Each according to their religious practice prayed in favor of Burkina Faso in general and specifically for the political, administrative, military and paramilitary leaders of the province of Namentenga.
His Eminence Philippe Cardinal Ouédraogo, Pastor Elisée Bonkoungou, El Hadji Kafando Hasmado, Dapooré Naaba, representing His Majesty Naaba Sonré de Boulsa, in turn delivered messages of peace from the entities they represent through biblical and Koranic verses but also based on ancestral values.
Messages from the Peuhl community, the Dima of Boussouma, the president of the Paspaogo association and the customary chief of Boulsa also focused on the promotion of peace, tolerance and living together.
Anything that opposes, according to them, the acts and hate speech that are delivered by armed groups.
The Cardinal in his speech, paid a vibrant tribute to the fallen fighting forces, encouraged the government and the actors on the ground for their efforts to reconquer the territory. He encouraged widows, orphans and the wounded.
The various customary communities through their sacred symbols, namely the blacksmiths with the anvil, the calabash among the Peulhs, the land chiefs with their fetishes, cast a spell over the terrorists and their accomplices.
The Paspaongo association and the Nayinéré Association for the Development of Namentenga (ANDN) took the opportunity to hand over 25 tonnes of food to High Commissioner Conseiga Adama in support of the peace effort.
“The strong mobilization of the population, in particular the presence of customary and religious regional notables, the content of the messages conveyed allow me to say that the objectives have been largely achieved,” says ANDN President Fulbert Bembamba.
