“The investigation also includes the citizen Phenelope Jhoana Contreras Cabezas (worker in the legislator’s office) as an alleged accomplice in the aforementioned crime,” added the Prosecutor’s Office in a message on his account on the X social network, formerly Twitter.
In recent days, the Sunday program “Cuarto Poder” published a series of chats that would show that Soto has a group of trolls in charge of countering negative opinions against him on social networks, through advertising allegedly paid for by his workers.
The money given monthly by employees “voluntarily”, through Phenelope Contreras, would pay for advertising on social networks such as Facebook, so that positive news about the legislator would have a greater reach.
Soto responded on Tuesday in his X account to the Attorney General’s Office that, with a “clear conscience”, he will submit to all the investigations that are carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Judiciary and that he will demonstrate that he has not committed any crime.
The member of the Alianza para el Progreso party, who assumed the presidency of Parliament on July 26, has also been singled out for alleged nepotism, among other reasons, for having covered up the fact that he had to pay civil compensation in the midst of a complaint for apparent defamation.
In the same way, he has been questioned for supporting a law that aims to prescribe the crimes of fraud and illegal appropriation that the Waynapicchu transport company presented against him.
