Russia was in 9th place in the world in terms of the total number of registered DDoS attacks. In the second quarter of 2023, Russian IT infrastructure accounted for 2.3% of such attacks of the total number of them in the world, which is twice as much as it was in the first quarter of this year, according to a study by Garda, a company developing solutions in the field of information security. The company did not disclose the absolute number of attacks recorded during this period.
The growth in the number of DDoS attacks in absolute terms was confirmed by Alexander Lyamin, the founder of Qrator Labs. Over the past six months, the total number of attacks has risen again, up 40% year-on-year, Lyamin noted.
