Musart 2021 from 15 to 27 July: Bolle, Bennato, Bollani, Capossela, Pierannuzzi and other events

After a year of stoppage due to the Covid emergency, music and dance return to the Renaissance piazza della Santissima Annunziata of Florence for the 2021 edition of Musart, the festival that combines big names in entertainment with the age-old charm of Florence. Roberto Bolle, Edoardo Bennato, Stefano Bollani, Luka Šulić, Fiorella Mannoia, Niccol Fabi Vinicio Capossela and Enrico Pieranunzi these are just some of the artists on stage from 15 to 27 July in one of the most iconic places in Florence, a few steps from the Duomo.

In addition to the enchanting scenery of Piazza Santissima Annunziata, there are two adjacent spaces rich in history and other concerts not to be missed: Ginevra Di Marco, Marco Parente, Serena Altavilla and Giulia Pratelli, Paolo Benvegn will play in the Courtyard of the Men of the Istituto degli Innocenti. At sunset, in the Cloister of the Levant of the University of Florence, space for Federico Mecozzi, Pietro Cantarelli, Angelo Trabace, Vincenzo Vasi, artists of classical training but devoted to the contemporary.


Tickets already on sale

For most of the shows, tickets are already on sale online on the official website www.musartfestival.it (info tel. 055/667566) and in the Boxoffice Toscana points www.boxofficetoscana.it/punti-vendita (info tel. 055.210804). We remind you that tickets for the shows of Roberto Bolle, Stefano Bollani, Fiorella Mannoia, Edoardo Bennato and Orchestra della Toscana scheduled for the 2020 edition of the festival and postponed following the anti Covid provisions remain valid: attention, the extras pervaded by the Gold formula Packages cannot be issued, those who have purchased this type of tickets will be refunded the fee for the additional services, the coupons remain valid to attend the show.

The program

At Musart 2021 the concert by Niccol Fabi, scheduled for Summer Fiesolana 2020, will also be recovered: even in this case the tickets purchased for that date remain valid.

The curtain of piazza della Santissima Annunziata opens on Saturday 17th July with the “Roberto Bolle and Friends” dance gala: the toile of two worlds returns to the Musart Festival with its excellent guests.

Mocks the powerful, draws a world of good and bad without forgetting the most universal of feelings, love: Edoardo Bennato meets the Orchestra of Tuscany directed by Raffaele Lopez and arrives, on Monday 19 July in Piazza SS Annunziata, with a project in which revisits in a symphonic key milestones such as “One day you believe”, “The island that does not exist”, “Don’t let your arms fall” …

Not a simple transcription: in “Piano Variations on Jesus Christ Superstar” Stefano Bollani reinterprets the famous musical in an instrumental version, adding his nature and extraordinary capacity for improvisation: in solitude and in absolute freedom, Wednesday 21 July.

Thursday 22nd July, again on the main stage of Musart Festival, all the talent of Luka Šulić, world star of the cello and co-founder of 2Cellos, with a special concert of pop, rock and classical music, accompanied by the enfant prodige of the piano Evgeny Genchev.

Friday 23 July Fiorella Mannoia returns to the Florentine public, a few months after the release of the new album “Masters of nothing”, eight songs that the artist recorded during the lockdown, reflective and intense tracks that photograph Fiorella’s mood.

Sabbot July 24 Niccol Fabi brings his unmistakable style to Musart. It is an opportunity to be able to relive something that has been deeply missed in this last year, together with fellow travelers Roberto Angelini, Pier Cortese, Alberto Bianco, Daniele “mf coffee” Rossi and Filippo Cornaglia.

Musart Festival closes on Monday 26th July with two exceptional events: at 9.15 pm in Piazza Santissima Annunziata, Vinicio Capossela draws on the numerous Dante references of his artistic production and, in the 700th anniversary of the death of the Supreme Poet, presents “La bestiale comedia”: a journey into the afterlife among saints, mythical creatures, beasts, heroes and, above all, sinners. A few hours later, at 4.45 am in the Cortile degli Men of the Istituto Degli Innocenti, the curtain falls on Musart with the concert at dawn by the pianist Enrico Pieranunzi.

The other events

In the Courtyard of the Men of the Istituto degli Innocenti, Thursday 15 July preview evening of the festival together with Ginevra Di Marco and her “Songs, calls of love”; Friday 16 Marco Parente presents the new album “Life”. Sunday 18th July two female voices suspended between melody and rock, Serena Altavilla and Giulia Pratelli: in the foreground the solo debut of Serena Altavilla, “Morsa”, and the new course of Giulia Pratelli inaugurated with the single “Luglio”. Tuesday 20 July Paolo Benvegn with the project “Of the useless premonitions” in which he revisits, in an acoustic key, some of his most loved songs.

Wednesday 21, at 6.45 pm, the violinist Federico Mecozzi – for two decades alongside Ludovico Einaudi – inaugurates the concerts at sunset (6.45 pm) at the Levante Cloister of the University of Florence; follows Friday 23 July the live of Pietro Cantarelli, long-time composer, producer and arranger as well as collaborator of Tosca, Ornella Vanoni, Samuele Bersani. Saturday 24 Angelo Trabace, already at the piano with Dimartino, Vasco Brondi, Francesco Bianconi: between research, new folk and pop art. Still at the Levante Cloister, Sunday 25 July, to play the theremin by Vincenzo Vasi, the oldest electronic instrument, with over a century of history. The “Because the night” photographic exhibition dedicated to the great Florentine concerts of the past is unmissable, this year with shots by Marco Borrelli.
