Chicago, IL – A shooting at Guaranteed Rate Field during a White Sox game on Friday night left two people injured, prompting the cancellation of a ’90s-themed concert. Investigators are now working to determine the cause of the incident.

According to a police source, the shooting took place inside the park at approximately 8:45 p.m. A 42-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while a 26-year-old woman had a graze wound to her abdomen. The 42-year-old woman is currently in fair condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center, while the 26-year-old woman declined medical attention.

Chicago police released a statement saying, “Upon receiving notification of this incident, CPD responded immediately and deployed additional resources while coordinating with White Sox security to maintain the safety of those who were in attendance or working at the game. At no time was it believed there was an active threat.”

Following the shooting, the scheduled concert, featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, and Tone Loc, was canceled due to “technical difficulties.” Fans holding on-field passes will receive a refund to the original purchaser’s credit card.
