During this session of the Departmental Committee on Drugs, the attendees learned about the progress in the construction of the National Drug Policy, the Domes demonstration project and the Departmental Plan on Drugs, Being, Knowing and Acting.
“We had the presence of academia, of the universities, of the institutions that provide health services, of the companies that administer the benefit plan, of the different secretariats of Health, Government, and Education. It is very important to review how we can articulate” indicated Luz Adriana Rivera González, coordinator of the SPA Consumption Reduction Team of the Risaralda Governor’s Office.
“At today’s meeting, we had the opportunity to find out how the construction of the National Drug Policy is progressing, from the perspective of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health. We were able to tell about the progress of the Domes demonstration project, we had guests from international agencies and, in turn, we told about the progress of the Departmental Drug Plan from all its lines of prevention, treatment, risk and damage reduction, institutional strengthening” he noted.
As an outstanding fact, the Domes demonstration project seeks to provide a comprehensive response to the drug phenomenon in terms of prevention, risk and damage reduction and treatment of psychoactive substance use and has the support of the Anti-Narcotics Affairs Section and Application of the Law of the American Embassy, CICAD OEA, Colombo Plan, United Nations Office, CADCA and the Ministries of Health and Justice of Colombia.
