Guyanese right-hander Adbert Alzolay became the tenth Venezuelan on Thursday to record at least 20 saves in a major league season, in the Chicago Cubs’ 5-4 victory over the Pirates, in a clash held at PCN Park in Pittsburgh before 14,651 fans.

The San Felix reliever, who has a 4.65 ERA, allowed an unearned run in one inning. The 28-year-old right-hander preserved the victory for Daniel Palencia (4-0, 4.30 ERA), who threw a perfect inning with two strikeouts.
