The AMP obtains credit to complete the construction of the Cruise Port – Maritime

(Panama City-ANPanama) A total of US$10 million will be used by the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) to complete the construction of the Panama Cruise Port, of the US$12 million that were approved by the Budget Commission of the National Assembly for a credit supplementary.

This loan was supported by the administrator of the AMP, Noriel Araúz, who explained that $10 million of this item will be used to put the Cruise Port Passenger Terminal into operation.

Araúz assured that the new Cruise Terminal will help boost the economy, through tourism, passenger transport and the auxiliary maritime industry that will serve these ships, through supply.

On the other hand, the administrator of the AMP reported that of the US$12 million, US$1 million will be used to reinforce the budget item of the investment line, specifically to deal with cases of refloating and safe location of shipwrecked species that endanger the marine environment.

US$1 million will also be used to reinforce the item in the operating budget for the acquisition of various supplies and equipment to deal with contamination by hydrocarbon spills.
