After a week from August 19 to 25 divided between stifling heat waves and violent storms, the last week of August should find a compromise.

The heat wave and the storms, it’s over! Make way for much milder weather, according to the latest forecasts for Météo-France relayed by the Météo channel. Temperatures should continue to drop until Sunday August 27, while the last claps of thunder will ring out until Tuesday August 29 near the Mediterranean. The rest of France will be able to enjoy cooler temperatures and cloudy weather with some sunny spells. However, the heat could return around September 1st.

Beware, however, of this weekend of August 26 and 27. Especially around the Mediterranean where the mistral and the tramontana will blow hard until August 29. As for swimming, it could be discouraged until August 30 with rough seas and a drastic drop in water temperature, currently still between 24 and 29°C. On the other hand, from August 31, temperatures will start to rise again.

In the mountains, a difficult weekend

In the mountains, whether for the Pyrenees, the Vosges, the Alps, the Jura or the Massif Central, the observation remains the same. The weekend promises violent thunderstorms and precipitation is expected. On the other hand, from Monday August 28, the lull will be present.

Cool and breathable temperatures should even be observed. The days of August 29 and 31 should also be the best days for outdoor activities.
