Ettringen/Düngenheim. It’s people who live up to their place name “Ettringen, the village with a heart”. Since 1996, the ladies and gentlemen of creation from the Bergstrasse area, commonly known as “Burnick”, have been striving to do a lot in terms of culture and socializing. Be it the many Advent festivals, where everyone had their specific task to contribute in terms of mulled wine, grilled food or tasty cake specialties, so it is now again, except in the Corona phase, the famous “Burnicker festivals”, in the truly historical area of their home town, where the history of the Ettringer broom makers blows. Honest people who tried to support their families with their hands for decades, even without Harz. It is simply magical that those responsible today, families and circles of friends from this “village of broom makers”, did not forget this, and that the name “Burnickerfest” was traditionally chosen for the rustic festival for this summer party. And the people, yes true fans of the “Burnicker” they always flock to the street festival. And this time the organizers had a musical cult group, the “Kampfmaschine”, as guests. The musicians, who also wanted to contribute their mite to the proceeds, spontaneously donated their fee. One can only say “respect”. And where else is there? Because eating and drinking is free. Donations in the thick Glücks-Schwein are very welcome. After deducting the expenses, the net proceeds are always donated to a “good cause”. Among other things, the Koblenzer Kemperhof. For the second time, the “doers” are making the “St. Martin in Düngenheim. Of course, you also want to see what is happening with the finances. Last week it was that time again. The Ettringer “good spirits” were greeted with joy by those responsible for the Düngenheim facility, Erika Mayr from the administration department, and Stephan Lung from the management department. The proud proceeds of 3,000 euros could be handed over. As the saying goes: “Do good and talk about it”. Because something like that could encourage some to imitate. In any case, there was great joy within the facility: “We are a facility in which a great many disabled people live, and we will definitely use the money to buy or produce something useful, very likely in the children and youth sector. We will inform you in detail about it, ”says Erika Mayr and Stephan Lung to the local newspaper Blick aktuell. And a metal plaque in the facility will document the donation from the proceeds of the “Burnickerfest” for all time. It was once again a festival with a lot of heart for a good cause. Many guests are already looking forward to the “Burnickerfest” in 2024, of course.
