Sinister discovery in the bathtub of a Savoyard apartment. On August 16, the lifeless body of a five-year-old child was found in an apartment in downtown Annecy (Haute-Savoie). The mother of the child has since been indicted, according to information from the Dauphine Liberepublished on Monday.
That day, it was the neighbors who sounded the alarm, after noticing suspicious cries and noises coming from the house. In the bathroom, the firefighters discovered the body of a five-year-old child, submerged under water, as well as his mother, seriously injured in the wrists. The apartment belongs to the father, but the parents no longer lived together. The ex-couple still maintained cordial relations, and shared custody of the child.
Mother charged and imprisoned
When heard, the father was cleared of all suspicion. He was on vacation at the time of the discovery of the body, and was not in the house when the facts took place. “He was quite outside the department on leave, and moreover was very worried not to have heard from his son. He is totally out of the question, ”explains Line Bonnet, the Annecy prosecutor, relayed by theSavoyard development.
During police custody, the latter denied the facts, explaining that she had been “victim of an attack” and that, after being “unconscious”, she “found her son dead” when she woke up. “His statements did not convince the investigating judge, explains the prosecutor with Essor Savoyard. She was discovered with very serious wrist injuries consistent with a suicide attempt.
An investigation was opened by the Annecy prosecutor’s office for “murder of a minor under the age of fifteen”. The 39-year-old mother was charged and remanded in custody, reports France Blue Country of Savoy.
