For a derisory booty, an 80-year-old woman was violently beaten by a burglar on Monday at her home located rue de la Gare, in Dammarie-les-Lys (Seine-et-Marne). Around 1 p.m., the victim surprised a stranger with his face crossed out with a surgical mask, in his kitchen. This tall man, aged between 25 and 30, demands that the lady give him some money. And without waiting, he punches her several times in the face before grabbing her by the hair and dragging her on the ground. He throws her into a room and orders her to be quiet.
The victim locks himself in this room, opens the window and calls his neighbors for help. Several residents approach the house and see the criminal trying to start the car of the octogenarian. “He threatens them, orders them not to approach but fails to put the contact”, specifies a source close to the case. The thief finally left the scene on foot and headed for the station. A passer-by follows him and films his back. But the criminal realizes this and threatens her by brandishing a cobblestone to scare her away.
Multiple hematomas on the face
Shortly after, help arrives in the house and supports the owner. She suffers from multiple bruises and her face is swollen. Her eyes are bleeding, her vision blurs and she feels pain in her lower back. The firefighters took her to the emergency room of the Sud Ile-de-France Hospital Group, in Melun, to receive treatment and check her state of health.
The thug searched all the rooms in the pavilion and took a wallet containing 400 euros, car keys and jewelry. The investigation was entrusted to officials from the Melun Val de Seine urban police station. Technicians from the technical and scientific police noted the traces and clues at the scene of the theft and the assault. For the time being, no witness is able to identify the thief and no video surveillance image has been found.
