From BGN 2.50 at the beginning of August, greenhouse cucumbers reached BGN 3.09/kg at the end of this working week. This week alone, the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) noted an almost 18% growth in the wholesale price, which equates to BGN 0.47 per kilogram. A greenhouse producer explained to Agro Plovdiv that the reason for the increased price is the limited Bulgarian greenhouse production – only two complexes in the country are currently harvesting cucumbers.

Due to the continued Polish production of tomatoes, the red vegetable is sold at a stable wholesale price of BGN 2.42. At the beginning of August, greenhouse tomatoes were traded at BGN 2.50.

Red pepper continues to sell for over BGN 2 per kilogram, and its current market price is BGN 2.34. The green one is BGN 1.77.

DKSBT reports that “Vitosha” cheese is up by BGN 0.24 – BGN 17.55 (1.4%) wholesale this week. A kilogram of cow’s cheese has increased by 11 cents to BGN 11.33, which is also the price of a kilogram of chicken breast.

Although the zero value of type 500 flour was maintained, and that the purchase price of bread grain was more than 30% lower compared to a year earlier, flour increased in price during the week by 5.3% (BGN 0.07/kg) up to BGN 1.40.
