That is, in practice, the change will allow the payment of the loan with lower installments

This Monday, the 28th, Caixa Econômica Federal opened the renegotiation of Pronampe contracts to extend the payment term to up to 72 months, with recalculation of installments. That is, in practice, the change will allow the payment of the loan with lower installments.

The change was allowed after an order issued by the Secretariat for Micro and Small Enterprises and Entrepreneurship (Sempe), a body linked to the Ministry of Industry. The text was published at the beginning of the month and changes the conditions for renegotiating credits under the program.

Caixa will allow renegotiations for customers who have active Pronampe contracts, with up-to-date or overdue payments, as long as the contract is not on pause, in a grace period or on honor by the Fundo Garantidor de Valores (FGO), which provides guarantee for program loans. In overdue contracts, overdue and unpaid installments will be incorporated into the outstanding balance.

“The measure is a fundamental step towards strengthening the small business sector, enabling the adjustment of the payment period according to the customer’s needs and financial circumstances”, says in a note the vice-president of Retail Business at Caixa, Maria Christina Farah. “In addition, it allows entrepreneurs to restructure their financial commitments, avoiding the closure of companies, preserving jobs and stimulating the country’s economic growth.”

Requests to change deadlines must be made at Caixa’s physical branches. The public bank granted around R$ 38 billion in credit through Pronampe, to more than 345 thousand micro and small entrepreneurs.
