The Special Chamber of Instruction of the Supreme Court opened a formal investigation against Armando Benedetti for the alleged crime of concussion during his time in the Senate.
The facts have to do with the alleged demand for money, in 2010, for the Fiduprevisora to pay teachers in the department of Córdoba, in the municipalities of Santa Cruz de Lorica and Planeta Rica, the payment of pension rights.
In this context, what the Chamber is investigating is whether Benedetti allegedly asked the lawyers and beneficiaries of judicial decisions on these benefits for money, so that the Fiduprevisora would pay those life pensions and settlements.
