The 26-year-old student suspected of having seriously stabbed, in January at Paris Cité University, a comrade who had dismissed him, presented at the time of the facts an alteration of discernment, according to a psychiatric expertise of which AFP had acquaintance on Tuesday.
“The offense with which the subject is charged is related to an anxiety-depressive moment in the context of a relational context where a lovingly invested woman to whom he makes a statement, signifies to him the absence of reciprocity”, detail the two psychiatrists appointed by the investigating judge. “We will retain the alteration of discernment (…) but we will exclude an abolition insofar as there is, in our opinion, no delirium strictly speaking, nor auditory hallucinations which would underlie the passage to the ‘act”, they indicate in their conclusions dated July 19.
This student, who was in computer master at the time of the facts, is indicted for attempted murder. He is suspected of having seriously stabbed, on the Saint-Germain-des-Prés campus on January 25, a 32-year-old classmate who had told him the day before that he had no romantic feelings for him.
“Violent impulses”
Originally from Yvelines, the aggressor then unknown to the police had fled by metro before being arrested. Questioned by the police, he confided “to have violent, criminal impulses” and “to be a danger to society”. “I knew I would kill someone one day. I had already thought about it in the past. he added.
Questioned by the two psychiatrists as part of the investigation, he said “not to be” himself at the time of the facts. “I was taken by a persistent flood of voices,” he told the doctors. “I do not recognize myself in these acts, I regret a lot”.
Me Dylan Slama, the victim’s lawyer, said he would remain “attentive” following the procedure and wait for his client, “who has still not recovered from this extremely violent attack, to be heard”.
