Yahor Martynovichthe editor-in-chief of “Nasha Niva” until the moment of his arrest, who served 2 years and a half months of imprisonment, wrote his first post on Facebook after his release.

“I want to say VE-LI-ZAR-NY thanks to thousands of Belarusians who supported me, helped me or other political prisoners, or at least worried for us in their hearts.”

Martynovich promises to contact everyone from whom he received news.

“I just made sure that there are many times more decent, honest Belarusians, true patriots of our country, than I could have imagined in my wildest fantasies.”

“It hurts to understand how many additional worries and problems have fallen on our relatives and friends. They carried the main burden on their shoulders. What to us? Sit still and count the days. But the relatives did not sign up to see people in balaclavas in their apartment, stand in lines outside the pre-trial detention center, and then lose their nerves waiting to see if they will be released or not.”

Yehor Martynovich said that he is returning to freedom with a clear conscience.
