Five tech companies in China held a public launch of their chatbots

Five Chinese tech companies at once, including Baidu and SenseTime, made their AI-powered chatbots available to the public on Thursday, according to a report. Reuters. This list also included the development of Baichuan Intelligent Technology, Zhipu AI and MiniMax.

In China, local technology companies need government approval to fully launch artificial intelligence products. To date, 11 organizations have received such permission. Among them are already Tencent and ByteDance, which owns TikTok. However, they have not yet announced the public launch of their products. In addition, it is known that Alibaba Group filed a corresponding application last week. Whether the company received permission is still unknown. Neither company responded to a Reuters inquiry about plans to publicly launch their chatbots.

The stocks of those companies that on Thursday already provided access to their chatbots to a wide audience, rose noticeably. Thus, stock quotes Baidu and SenseTime on the basis of trading rose by 2.1% and 2.3%, respectively.
