“God forgives those who truly repent” – It is with this statement that Débora Brasil, former dancer of the group “É o Tchan”, defines her current state of mind, quite different from the years in which she lived on stage with costumes and erotic dances, attracting crowds between 1992 and 1997.
Today at the age of 52, of which 10 have been conversions to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Débora Brasil spends a good part of her time spreading her life testimony in order to warn other people about the dangers of fame and money.
“The Lord looked at me, even though I was wrong, a sinner, dirty with sin, there, going up and down, and sometimes people would come and give me the leaflet and say: ‘Deborah, God has a plan for your life.’ And my life was emotionally destroyed,” she said during a recent sermon, according to the Extra newspaper.
All the achievements of the former É o Tchan dancer, who exploded as a musical phenomenon in the 90s, were not enough to bring peace and joy to Débora. Her soul, according to the former artist, cried out for the presence of God.
“My soul was crying out every day, looking for help. I was getting sicker and sicker, emotionally and psychologically, but I was onstage with a big smile. But my heart was screaming,” she said.

The former É o Tchan dancer revealed that her joy on stage was nothing more than appearance, as she arrived home and fell apart. “My pillow received the tears. I didn’t want more, ”she said.
Living in Salvador, Bahia, but working as a missionary, Débora Brasil makes a point of declaring her faith in Jesus Christ, showing that there is nothing in the world that is capable of replacing this presence of love and mercy.
