Niantic Removes Limit on Master Balls in Pokémon Go, Introducing Second Ball Possibility

by time news

Niantic, the company behind the popular mobile game Pokemon Go, has made a significant change to the game’s mechanics regarding the highly coveted Master Ball. The Master Ball, known for its 100% catch rate, has always been a sought-after item among players, often saved for rare and elusive Pokemon encounters.

However, up until recently, trainers were limited to carrying just one Master Ball at a time. This restriction had some players attempting to stock up on multiple Master Balls by saving them and not using them for their intended purpose. The Pokemon Go help website previously included a statement that explicitly stated the one-Master Ball limit, reinforcing this restriction.

But now, Niantic has quietly removed this reference from the help website. It seems that trainers can now carry more than one Master Ball in their inventory, allowing them to save them for multiple rare encounters or use them to increase their chances of capturing certain Pokemon.

The change came after the release of a new research task called “Timed Investigation: Master Ball.” This research requires players to complete a series of difficult tasks in order to receive a second Master Ball. Some players have expressed concerns about the complexity of these tasks, particularly for rural players who may have difficulty accessing enough raids to meet the requirements.

Dexerto reached out to Niantic for a comment regarding the removal of the Master Ball limit, but the company has not responded yet. It remains to be seen if Niantic will address the change or provide further clarification on the new mechanics surrounding the Master Ball.

In the meantime, players can look forward to the possibility of accumulating multiple Master Balls, enhancing their ability to capture rare and powerful Pokemon. For more Pokemon Go news and updates, be sure to check out Dexerto’s Pokemon Go section.
